If you don’t take care of your body, where are you going to live?
I just love that phrase. It’s so simple and true and potent.
We can spend endless hours at work, trying to further our careers so that we can live in nice houses, with comfortable furniture, and lovely interior design, but if we are not taking care of our bodies, we won’t be able to enjoy our homes.
We can devote endless energy to accumulating status symbols like cards, jewelry, handbags, big screen T.V.’s, genuine African fertility statues, or Faberge eggs, but if we are neglecting our health, we will miss all those items while we sit in a hospital room.
We can clamor for attention, win awards and promotions, get recognition, get elected or appointed to important positions, and make ourselves well-knows, but if our physical form is deteriorating, we will not be able to hold those important positions and they will go to someone else.
It is incredibly important to focus on your health, because without it, nothing else much matters.
Some simple tips:
1. Get enough sleep
2. Drink a lot of water
3. Eat a balanced diet
4. Exercise
5. Minimize alcohol use
6. Don’t smoke
7. Reduce stress
8. Use preventative medicine (free screenings, yearly exams, etc.)
